Come and join mindfulness silent retreat in Taixuan monastery, where you will be provided with detailed instructions on mindfulness techniques by an experienced teacher and see changes in only several days.

Introduction of the instructor:
珠吉法师毕业于中国佛学院,2015年受邀前往新西兰弘法,其间在国会大厦出席了由新西兰总统召开的新春招待会,弘法事迹亦收录于奥克兰战争纪念博物馆。同年赴美国西来大学留学。归国后再度赴新西兰弘法。
Venerable Zhu Ji graduated from the Buddhist Academy of China. In 2015, he was invited to New Zealand to teach Dharma. During this time, he attended the New Year reception held by the President of New Zealand at the Parliament Building. His deeds of Dharma promotion are also included in the Auckland War Memorial Museum. Same year he went to study at the University of the West in America. After returning home country for a while, he went to New Zealand to preach the Dharma again.

不忍众生苦、不忍圣教衰,我只是将我学到的最原始、最纯正的佛法与大家分享。
Can't bear seeing all beings in suffering, can't bear seeing Buddha’s teaching to decay. I only intend to share the most original and truest Buddhism I have learned.

众生不是因为身体的污染而污染,也不是因为身体的清净而清净。众生是因为内心的污染而污染,是因为内心的清净而清净。遇佛出世难,听闻正法难。此身不向今生度,更向何生度此身?
When we feel there’s no inner peace within, it is because our minds are infected instead of the body. The true Buddhism doesn’t always come by and understanding it can also be challenging. Yet if we don’t commit to something this life, which life would it be?
您所谓的信仰只是您以为的。
Buddhism is so much more than your ordinary impression of a religion.
对佛陀不了解、对佛陀的教导不了解、
对圣弟子不了解,您的皈依是盲目的;
Not understanding Buddha, Buddha’s teaching and his holy disciples ,your refuge can comes only from blind faith
对戒律不了解、对禅定不了解、
对观慧不了解,您的修行是徒劳的;
Not understanding the disciplines and meditation ,not practicing to reflect on real insights, the practices will be useless ;
对經藏不了解、对律藏不了解、
对论藏不了解,您的信仰是迷茫的;
Having no prior knowledge of sutra, precepts and abhidharma, we will easily get confused in believing;
对贪心不防护、对嗔心不防护、
对痴心不防护,您的内心是染污的;
If we don’t protect ourselves from greed,resentment and ignorance, our minds will be weak and vulnerable to contamination;
对身业不净化、对语业不净化、
对意业不净化,您的痛苦是注定的。
If we don’t purify bodily acts , verbal acts , and mental acts,the sufferings are bound to happen.

特别注意Notice:
请自备宽松保暖衣物及拖鞋,自带水杯及洗漱用品。禅修期间过午不食,如因特殊情况需晚上就餐,请提前告知。夏季早晨五点起床,冬季六点起床,请提前调整作息时间以适应禅修活动。
Please dress comfortably, pack toiletries, slippers and cups. Normally there’ll be no dinners served, if there’s any special physical condition that, please tell us in advance.Please adjust your schedule, since we’ll need to get up early, 5am (summer time) 6am (winter time)
禅修规约
Retreat rules
任何时候放松身心都是第一要务,
请时刻保持身心的柔软。
Here, relaxation is our priority, please keep in mind we try to be gentle both physically and mentally
1.让念头从屏幕回归身体,全程禁止使用手机。(请不要带备用手机;请不要存侥幸心理;请对自己这几天的生命完全负责;请认真实践老师教导的每一句教导。向家人告知平安抵达后,请先关闭闹钟再关机,并将手机放置于塑封袋里,交给义工。)
Let’s bring our thoughts back to our body where it belongs. No phones will be allowed during retreats (No backup phones allowed either, please take full responsibility of your own body and soul for at least these several days J; Listen patiently and practice what the instructor teach. After informing your families that you’re safe upon your arrival, switch off the alarms and shut down your phone, then hand it over to our volunteers in a plastic bag.)
2.圣默然是对心灵最好的呵护,全程止语。(无论是在房间、禅堂或是斋堂,总之在一切时一切处都要完全禁语。禅修报告、提问、回答老师除外。严格禁止与室友、同修或义工讲话。禅修营结束后学员之间方可交流。如果要做一些必要的沟通,请写在便签纸上。若非遇到人命关天、生死攸关的大事,否则请保持神圣的静默。)
The noble silence is the best care for our mind, no talks allowed during retreat. (Stay silent here in all places, with or without people around you. Except during our special session when you could ask questions (only related to meditation) and report about your meditation. Other than that, if there’s any cases you feel necessary to talk to others, you could write it down on the notes. Otherwise, please keep silent. This isn’t only about you but is important for everyone at the retreat)
3.放下一切返回心灵的港湾,全程遵守禅修作息时间。(将身心完全投入到修行中,要舍生忘死的用功,要义无反顾的精进。请不要带任何类型的书籍来阅读,要把所有的时间都投入到心灵的净化中。请不要在集体行禅或坐禅时做任何运动。)
Let everything go and rest your heart here and stick to our schedule at retreat. (try and devote your entire mind and body to the retreat, and try be dedicated to it wholeheartedly and you won’t regret it. No books or diaries allowed either. Our purpose is to purify our mind using as much time as we have here., and those are the distractions you don’t need either. No other kinds of sports allowed during meditation.)
4.全程受持慈心九戒,戒为无上菩提本,长养一切诸善根。(持戒能保护我们的言行,避免陷入粗糙的烦恼,能够让我们的心更好的安住在当下的修行。慈心能够让我们变得柔软、充满喜悦。过午不食戒是指日中之后不可以再吃主食,可以饮用蜂蜜水、葡萄糖、中药等。)
We will practice the Nine Uposatha Precepts. Precepts are the source of wisdom which can help us cultivate unlimited wholesome deeds. Keeping the precepts will protect our mind from falling into the rough troubles. It will help us to present in the moment. The compassion that thrives from this would allow gentleness and joy in life. (In regarding to practicing ‘No food after midday’, we provide honey water, glucose and Chinese medicine for those who need it, these can be allowed).
5.成就别人就是成就自己,寺院有权将行为不当的禅修者劝离。(对于不遵守规约的学员,那是在浪费自己的生命。没有老师的批准,不得擅自离开寺院。对于屡次干扰到同修的学员将被劝离。)
Putting others in consideration is also helping yourself. The Zen Yard will have to kindly invite those to leave, who have trouble following our rules or trouble others‘ meditation. Please don’t leave the monastery without letting us know.
6.准备好一颗谦虚恭敬的心,让法流进你的心中。(欢迎把问题记录下来,老师会尽其所学为你解答。)
Come with a humble and respectful attitude, and let Dharma flow into your heart. If you have any questions regarding practicing meditation, the teacher will always be here for you.
