English belongs to the West Germanic branch of the Indo European language family, which was first used by mediEval England and became the most widely spoken language in the world due to its vast colonies. The evolution of English is the improvement and development of its more than 1500 year history. English has a history of over 1500 years, and each major change in history has introduced a large number of foreign words to English. With the progress of history, these words continue to improve and change, ultimately forming the language form of today.
Tracing the development of English, we usually divide it into three periods: 1. Old English period (450-1150) 2. Old English period (1150-1450) 3. Modern English period (1450~?)
