While it’s our job as coaches to champion our clients to create their own unique vision of a fulfilled life, its also our job to support them in embracing the fullness of their present life experience. And, while it is never planned or intended, this can also include the experience of grief and loss. This can be an intense emotion for many, and disrupt our sense of self, and relationship to the world.

Nick Kettles has been working with grief and loss in a professional capacity for over 30 years, and as a coach for the last 15. He believes that with gentleness and courageous honesty, its transformation is possible for our clients, and with that, the opportunity to reconsider our relationship to what has been lost and renew their connection to life and the future they wish to create. In this webinar, Nick will introduce you to some of the key coaching skills and mindsets required to begin to include grief and loss when it arises in your client practice. There will also be the opportunity to participate in a short meditation designed to help you embrace your own losses.

悲伤的存在是由爱而生

我们能暂停一下吗?”我对尼古拉斯·凯特尔斯教练说。

       突如其来的冲动，让我从椅子上站起来，悄悄地走到离我不远的橱柜前，踮起脚尖打开了最顶层储物柜柜门，伸长了手去摸到了这个静静地“藏”在储柜角落里11年都没用过的父亲的相机。

       我抱着费力取出的相机坐回到了屏幕前，当相机的重量落在我的膝盖上时，我惊讶地听见自己脱口而出:“这可能是我生命中第一次真正感受到，“实际上，我爱他胜过恨他。”接着，眼泪止不住地顺着脸颊流下。

       尼古拉斯·凯特尔斯是一名大师级教练、治疗师、培训师和设计师。参加他的“教练哀&失“的课程，感觉就像是经历了一段在黎明中穿越荒野的徒步，眼前的阴影与前方的曙光相互交织的存在着。还记得一月份我在参加第一堂课时，并没有太多期望，但在短短十分钟内，我内心中被理性思维包裹了无数层的麻木发生了转变，仿佛在缓慢却坚定地走出迷雾。两个月后，我们从冬季走入了春天，从“终点”迈入了无尽的新生。

       我向所有想要深入打磨技能的教练们强烈推荐这个“教练哀与失”的课程。如果将教练比喻为发掘我们内在宝藏的入口，那么这个课程如同是坐上时光穿梭机，进入自己情感的圣地，而哀与失就像是隐藏在内心深处的瀑布一样，让你在流淌着的情感中获得最真挚的智慧和勇敢。

       附言: 我的父亲是一个易怒而暴力的人，从小我就尽可能远离他。在他被诊断出癌症之前，他开始了学习摄影，那时他正在奔七的途中。而摄影成为了唯一真正让我们走到一起的共同话题。

       这张照片是父亲拍摄的。我在他去世后整理遗物时找到了它。今天再次看着这朵莲花，感觉像是他在对我说，即使生长在黑暗深处，爱和美丽却永远都会绽放。
