The Ah-Q Jazz Arkestra is pleased to be participating in this year's Daniel Pearl World Music Days with a special performance of original jazz compositions on Saturday, November 5^th at the Jianghu Bar.

Since its inception in 2002, thousands of events in more than 140 countries have been dedicated to Daniel Pearl World Music Days, inspired by the life and work of journalist and musician Daniel Pearl, who was killed by terrorists in 2002.

Ah-Q Jazz Arkestra has been a longstanding participant, and we are thrilled to be part of thisannual global concert network that uses the universal language of music to affirm the ideals of tolerance, friendship and our shared humanity.

借由音乐的力量来提倡人类的和谐

阿Q爵士乐团将于11月5日（周六）在江湖酒吧举行特别的专场演出，演奏新的原创曲目，以参加今年的《丹尼‧波尔世界音乐日》演出系列。

自创始以来，《丹尼‧波尔世界音乐日》已扩大为国际性的盛会，在全球各地已举行过成千上万的演出，以纪念丹尼‧波尔（Daniel Pearl）。丹尼‧波尔是一名成就非凡的记者和乐手，2002年不幸遭恐怖分子杀害。

为了纪念丹尼‧波尔，他的朋友在2002年发起了《丹尼‧波尔世界音乐日》，每年在世界各地都会举行许多纪念丹尼‧波尔的音乐会，并借由音乐的力量来提倡和谐、友谊、和仁爱。我们阿Q爵士乐团已经参加了好多年。

Ah-Q Jazz Arkestra

Named after the main character in a Lu Xun novel, the Ah-Q Jazz Arkestra has stubbornly found its own niche in the Beijing jazz scene for two decades, bringing together an eclectic mix of musicians, styles, and original jazz compositions.

Playful, creative, adventurous, the Ah-Q Jazz Arkestra uses the rich language of jazz to explore the rhythms, melodies, harmonies and emotions of our world.

二十年以来，阿Q爵士乐团在北京爵士界像鲁迅小说里的同名角色一样，近乎固执地坚持打造自己独特的声音，把各路乐手、不同风格、以及原创曲目荟萃一堂，充满张力。 

怀着爱玩、独创、探险的精神，阿Q爵士乐团通过爵士乐这个极其丰富的语言探索我们所在世界的旋律、和声、节奏和情感 。

In September 2021, the band released their latest album, featuring new original compositions, entitled Lifeline.

In 2020, Ah-Q recorded Letters From Afar, an exchange of musical “letters” that captured, in a somewhat different time and space, the playful back-and-forth of jazz improvisation.

Ah-Q Jazz Arkestra’s second album “Dream Messenger” was released in 2018, capturing improvisational snapshots of the original compositions that have evolved out of the group’s many years of performing together in Beijing.
